So for my mechanics out there, can a incorrectly installed battery lead to other issues on a car? My car died so I got my battery replaced awesome right? That same day it wouldn’t start I couldn’t even drive it off the lot the mechanic came outside and was stumped trying to figure it out. I kept having the same issues and kept going back. Another mechanic replaced the wires to the battery awesome! I went back again because it still kept happening and just for another mechanic to redo the entire battery because they said it was installed completely wrong. Now three months later my car again is dead and won’t start. I was driving everyday with battery issues for at least 6 months and before I brought my car there I never had any issues at all. My question is can driving with a battery that was installed incorrectly run down my starter and my alternator? I had it towed again to the same shop and I really don’t want them to charge me out the ass for a mistake they made that’s now given me so many issues over the course of a almost a year now. Please help! I have to go talk to them tomorrow. I drive a 2018 Nissan Sentra sv
So I say wrong because the way the other mechanic explained it to me is that the wiring to the battery shouldn’t be able to move and both posts should be secured tightly with the correct bolts or what not. The guy who did it only secured one side of the battery and my wires were wiggley so my car was struggling to start every other time I tried to drive it. I’d have to pop my hood wiggle those wires and pray then take it back up there.
