Happy thanksgiving everyone. This April I had my 2007 Honda Accord oil changed from my local shop and the owner said they had to replace my oil drain plug.

Last week I brought my car to Honda for a transmission drain and fill. Upon inspection, the technician sent a photo of my oil drain plug, covered with a gray substance and a small amount of oil leaking out of it.

I emailed the photo to my local oil change shop, and they said they have no idea what the grey stuff is, but I should bring my car in right away so that they can fix it. My car is about due for its next oil change as well.

Does anyone know what this gray stuff is around my drain plug or why they would have used it? And my oil change shop said they have ordered a new oil pan just in case. Should I expect to pay for a new pan? Thanks for your thoughts.
