Being a Chelsea supporter, its expected everyone thinks this opinion comes out of bitter disappointment. However, this is something I have been observing and want to know if more people feel this way.

Chelsea as a team create great chances and those chances would 7/10 be goals for any other PL side (not just the top-ones, but any of the 20 teams). But as soon as the shot-taking player finds himself with the ball, there is no actual hunger to put it in the net. It seems like the most flimsy shots are taken to expect a ‘nice try’ or ‘oh, crossbar’, which is fair as long as it is not every shot for every subsequent match. Against Brentford, Cucurella in the 18th min, Sterling in so many games by just not trying enough in the box just shows that the goal of the players is not to actually score, but to shirk any criticism by playing a weak shot that is on-target but rash and save-able. There is absolutely no focus on positioning or actually taking a decent shot on target, instead of just spamming the ball when the player is beyond a passing stage.
