Hey gang,
Looking to spruce up our internet connection at work in a L shaped building where the front desk is the centre. Concrete walls, a lot of steel doors and sparsely placed outlets are what I am dealing with.
I originally just bought extenders to sit at both ends but because they’re extenders there are… numerous networks within the space across both bands and it’s easy to find yourself in a position where it feels like you have two networks fighting each other which affects your WiFi or just being overwhelmed by all the options.
So I am hoping that with my question I can kill two birds with one stone.
What I am hoping to do is run an ethernet cable from the router to both ends and connect in to their respective extenders (D-link DAP-1720) to not only improve their strength but also run them off a single network.
That way, regardless of where you are, you’re still on the same network like a mesh rather than jumping from one to another or getting in to weird limbo.
Is that possible or is that outside the ability of extenders where they need to create their own networks?
Otherwise, I’ll just pick up a couple DAP-1610 that are on sale which I’ve had success with in my home as a basic mesh-like setup.
