2016 Ford F-150 Fx4 (4WD) 2.7L Ecoboost. I attempted to change the front differential oil today. All I managed to do was extract about 300mL and make a big mess. I had driven the truck down a dirt road in 4WD for a few miles to warm up the viscous gear oil. There is only a fill plug on the front axle and the cover is quite inaccessible so I was using this extractor with the small diameter black tube. I already have the Amsoil gear oil and am an experienced DIYer.
Do I need to buy a pneumatic extractor or (gulp) take it to a shop?
