Just received both a 1tb and 512gb oled steam deck.

The 1tb model came with a very sharp sounding left trackpad (specifically on the right half of the left trackpad) that makes a loud and noticeable clicking noise when pressing the left trigger. I have tested this extensively and the right trackpad and trigger are obviously working as intended. As well as this, the right bumper is extremely and noticeably mushy when compared to its left counterpart.

For the 512gb model, there is a similar issue with the trackpads as mentioned above. as well as this, the shell is slightly uneven causing the left trigger to rub against the shell at the end of a full button press.

Anyone else having these issues, and is there some kind of explanation for the haptics? I like things to be even, an not super ocd, but it is noticeably different.

I have exactly the same issue with my 1tb OLED and the left haptics.

Do you also have this loud clicky noise when typing on your touchscreen keyboard?

Yep! Anything that triggers the left haptics (left stick press, left trigger press, keyboard) everything!

    Hi there,

I can’t say that I’ve noticed an issue with the left haptics or or a mushy right trigger. For reference, I have the 512GB OLED Model. On my old SD (LCD), I did notice a variance in feel for the triggers and buttons - I just put it down to a build quality issue (They all functioned as they should). You could try writing to steam explaining your concerns and see what they come back with.

Could I possibly trouble you with a quick question…I have a potential issue with my SD (Possibly a software bug) where tabbing out and back in to the download section causes a line to flicker.

Could you check your SD to see if you have this as well?

Here a vid showing what I mean - Video of the issue - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IM_BQ_dxMKX_gQ5lQxaxd0BaMySXLQzu/view?usp=drive_link
