I have a manual 2012 Dodge Challenger with the 5.7L hemi and my clutch shit the bed. I took it the Dodge dealership because it is less than a mile from my house and I don’t know any local mechanics here. They quoted me $5k for a new clutch. $1,500 for parts alone and the rest labor. I have not had to do a clutch replacement yet so I’m not sure what it normally costs. I did some research and people generally say it should be around $1k-$2k but I’m assuming that’s for an average car. Is it worth taking to a 3rd party shop to get a quote or do they usually cost that much for these types of cars?
