I lost count on how many 3rd/4th and 1 or less were fails because they didn’t even attempt a shove. Not only that, a traditional QB sneak was tried and failed, I just forget which game (turkey and wine creates foggy memory).
Dallas capitalized on a Washington failed 4th and short in Commanders territory. When the fail occurred, I turned it off.
Point of the post, I’m sooo glad we can confidently go into 3rd/4th and 1 and get it unless a big fail occurs with execution (fumbling or tripping on a fake sneak run).
It doesn’t have to be a tush push, the Commanders ran the worst 4th down plays I’ve ever seen.
The Seahawks ran a delayed handoff on 4th and 1 that got blown up in the backfield. I can’t believe just how spoiled we are to be fans of a team who can consistently convert the first down in these situations. It truly is like being 1st and 9 to start every series.
