I’m a big fan of the It Cosmetics your skin but better CC cream. For over two years I’ve used the shade Fair. It looks great on me I think and even in pictures this seems a good match, it doesn’t look odd to me at all. I had no idea what the undertone of this shade was until a few days ago when I went to buy a new one and came across this shade chart. I figured the shade Fair it is considered warm.

But the thing is I consider myself a pretty cool-toned person, or maybe neutral at most. My veins look both a little blue/greenish. I look great in cool tones, lilac is the color I probably wear most, as well as blueish-green colors. Occasionally I can pull off a bit of warmer color like, orangy/terracotta or reds. But I have to stay away from olive green. My cheeks and face usually tend to get more pink, I burn easily. My eyes are more of a hazel, cool green with a hint of yellow/gold in the middle.

So just out of curiosity I also ordered the neutral shade Fair Porcelain, it is significantly less yellow. I tried it on and although I feel it is a bit too pale for me I think it would work but I still think the shade Fair makes me look just a bit more lively/healthier.

I once had someone find my foundation shade and they matched me with a veryyy pink foundation, which in daylight made me look super pink and I could literally see it didn’t match with rest of my body and neck. So I’m definitely not cool when it comes to foundation.

But that means that the warm shade looks better on me? So is this even a thing? Why does cool-colored clothing usually look great on me but then I have a warm foundation? I feel like it just doesn’t make sense. I feel like my undertone doesn’t apply to the “rules”?? I just can’t seem to make sense of the way my skin matches with different colors. Does anyone else also have this?

Then probably everything I ever knew about colors is a lie and I have to re-educate myself.
