Greetings, nixers. I’m irreparably interested in developing a series of “professional-quality” video tutorials for NixOS as part of my side project of building a web-native spreadsheet app in Julia.

I’m particularly fond of Bob Ross’ style of creating a working product in 30 minutes. If you have any stylistic requests for Nix tutorials (cinematography, color scheming, voiceover talent, etc.), please open a dialogue here so I can focus on providing the best of all possible tutorials for my favorite OS ❤️

Postscript: I specialize in off-the-wall (unorthodox) ideation and optimization theory:

  1. ASMR “theoretical” tutorials to listen to while driving or falling asleep
  2. Modular ambient tutorials (without vocals) to watch while hacking to enjoy listening to soothing, meditative electronic music.
  3. Parody tutorials with 1980s retrowave music, VHS audiovisual distortions, and blatant breakings of the fourth wall all for added comedic effect.

Etc. etc.

The parody way of setting up the OS has long been known. All you have to do is start watching any popular Linux YouTubers. So it won’t be very original. In the case of NixOS, for example, you can spend half an hour typing sudo nixos-rebuild switch , making a bunch of typos and talking about high matters.
