Last season and this offseason, people on this sub mostly agreed to trust Pete and his personnel/coaching decisions, no? But now we lose two games and people are calling for Pete’s head? Something is wrong, we knew it wasn’t a one-year process, we have young players, and letting them develop for a year while still making the playoffs and being somewhat competitive isn’t a bad thing.

We fell for the drafts being so good and thought last season was only the beginning of what Geno can do especially since he himself said just wait til I have an offseason where I’m the QB1. But here we are dealing with the same issues as last season and our offense looks even worse. We can’t keep being ok with being just ok. I was never a PCJS we trust guy but I believe this is the reasoning

cus last year we weren’t expecting much and we went 9-8 and made the playoffs. But this year we have a much improved roster: drafted an all pro corner in witherspoon, a great wr3 in jsn, signed leonard williams and boye mafe broke out. Geno, Woolen, and Waldron have also regressed significantly from last year. The defense actually plays with heart and can be one of the best in the league if they click, a significant improvment from last year when we were practically calling for clint hurtt’s head. Just seems disappoiting cus we were expected to be much better. We got one of the youngest rosters in the league, so from that aspect, we more set for the future. And for the pete slander, welcome to r/seahawks, where everyone panics for the lightest things.

    It’s all about expectations.

Last year we were supposed to suck and have a season where we tank and use the high first round pick this year to start a rebuild. Instead we delegated the tank to Denver and managed to end up in the playoffs defying expectations.

This year we loaded up on more good draft picks, seemingly having a better roster and people expected a better season. Instead we’re performing like last season.
