Whats your opinion on the item in its current state? People seem to think that its OP and every mage will build it, but I think it will be a niche item.

I mean its stats are okay, but casters companion gives 10 more AP and its extra dmg can proc on basic spells AND ult. Malignance has essentially no passive if R is on cooldown, for most champs its just stats during a 60sec ult timer. Also I think its only really good if you can hold people in the area. A Viktor ult moving through, getting one proc triggering malignance, which people quickly step out of, is less value than casters companion, which can use up all 6 stacks on one proc.

So yeah, I think its niche, Anivia and swain want it for sure, on vel koz and Viktor I would likely pass despite the item offering some value and on burstmages like Syndra I would not even bother experimenting with it. Whats your opinion?
