Hi, yesterday I browsed gg.deals to find any discounts of official stores for my steam deck. I am a fan of indies so I had a few wishlisted and saw that 3 of them where on a fairly good price on this eTail.market site which I then just assumed to be an official store as gg.deals said so. I then proceeded to checkout but had some issues with the final redirection when I was on my phone browser and used the refresh button. This led me to the purchase failed page of theirs, so I tried another time, same thing -> purchase failed page, lastly a third time and this time I waited several minutes at their final redirection and it succeeded.
Now to the issue, the order history claims 2 out of 3 where successful and my bank account has been reserved twice for the cost too. I feel tricked and sad.
I’ve read the refund policy and it says no refunds, but I gave it a shoot and have written to their customer support, still waiting for answers. My guess is that they won’t accept a refund.
I just wanted to hear if any of you have some ideas if I could sell these on any site/thread or what to do now?
And I also wanted to complain a little too 😁 cheers.
You paid a price for education. Unfortunate - but I would consider that money gone :(
I’m not even sure what I’ve learned. Not to buy with the phone or to double check the orders even when they clearly say failed after the purchase…
Gray sites are anything outside of a very small handful of vetted places like Humble and Fanatical.
Listen, we all like a “good deal”, but in the end? Every one of these sites is a gamble. Sometimes? Gambling is fun - but the odds are always stacked in the house’s favor.
