Do you guys think Baker Mayfield is in the top 3 most bang for your buc (pun intended) quarterbacks in the league?

brb let me check the list of most paid QBs, i was thinking about this yesterday actually but I was too lazy to check.

While I am at it, before checking… he should be around 10th-15th most paid next season, if he wants more than that it’s kinda too much. Maaaybe I can excuse him being like 8th most paid QB cause I know the market will reset in a year or two after so by the time his contract is over he’d still end up like 13th most paid or whatever

      edit after checking:

LMAOOO Mayfield is the 37th highest paid QB this season??? THERE ARE 32 STARTING QBS AND HE IS NOT EVEN TOP 32??

He is tied for the 37th spot so only people paid less than him are Mac Jones and Kenny Pickett

Honestly I’d say Mayfield is #1 in this category. You get most out of him.

Tua is #28 highest paid QB so I’d say he has a case for that too.

Other notable “bang for your buck” QBs: CJ Stroud is #23. And that’s it. Geno Smith is #18 a good comparison for Mayfield next season maybe.

I’d say we got lucky with Brady too, we can only hope Mayfield feels like at home with us and he wants to stay.

I am pretty damn sure that some teams out there would be able to give him top 10 money so idk if we can compete

Also, after checking, I gotta say that I am retracting my previous statement, top10 QB money is kinda a lot, but I would not be opposed if he gets like 30-35m (for example this season: Garoppolo is paid 24.5m, Geno gets 25m, Tannehill gets 29.5m, Goff gets 33.5m, and I’d say these are very good comparisons for Mayfield more or less. )

Seeing what the 9rs did to the Seahawks yesterday makes me optimistic. Call me crazy but they looked worse than we did. We obviously have alot to work out but I’m betting we go on a huge run here and end up with 9 or 10 wins. We also have the potential to lose some real easy games but we also have the nootsack to take out the Panthers the way they were playing.

We played a healthy 49ers (which they weren’t during their losing streak) straight up better than a lot of teams did. Our offense ran down the field on them quite often and even our defence, while allowing a lot, still had their moments and didn’t let them go past 30. That’s not something crazy to say.

It’s just frustrating how it went down.

Totally hard to watch. That game is so different if Baker doesn’t try to be a hero. Which sucks cause it’s just ammunition for baker haters. And I love Baker. And then obviously the dropped passees and blown coverage. But man it’s sad to see simple stuff being the problem

I shared the same feelings until I remembered the NFL is game-to-game and there are lots of games that are not related.

HOWEVER, I think what we did vs 9ers was great from an offensive playcalling standpoint.

That’s why we did better than Seahawks vs 9ers.

I really doubt we’d do do great 2 weeks in a row in that department.

I am willing to be proved wrong tho

I think we looked great offensively except for those mistakes I mentioned. And it looked decently replicable.

Raiders fired everyone with them being 2 games behind .500

Washington lost yesterday, seemingly out of any playoffs race and they fired their DC

I know we won’t do it, but losing to Colts should lead to someone being fired

Losing to the Colts really ends any slim playoff chance we have. At some point you have to start winning winnable games. We keep losing them. We can’t rely on the NFC South being total ass to sneak in with 8 or 9 wins. I still think one of these teams will start to win out since the NFC South is also blessed with soft schedules all around. We had the toughest schedule of the bunch but all our tough games are already behind us (as losses) so we should have easy sailing the rest of the way if we can just play semi-decent. Problem is, with the defensive injuries mounting and lack of depth I don’t see that happening.
