What am i getting out of the OLED? More battery time? Slightly better detail that my old eyes wont notice? Im already struggling to justify spending money on myself (im not struggling with bills, im just not good at spending money on me). Its about $150 difference. I do get double the storage, but realistically ill never even fill the 256gb because i only have a small amount of games i play in general, let alone ones that id bring with me. My steam deck will essentially be for older, smaller games.

the way i see it, when i got my og deck which was 2 weeks ago i formed a couple of “cons” that are my personal experience. here they are:

    1. The screen bezels always made the screen look smaller then it actually was, and it made it look like something from 10 years ago. also, the colours always looked a bit bland and washed out.
    2. the battery life wasnt something that impressed me, and it died on me a lot sooner then i expected
    3. i like using original chargers for all my devices, and the 1.5m cable that comes with the og deck is always a bit too short for me so it causes me some inconveniences.
    4. remote play isnt working too well for me as i always have issues with it

if any of these apply to you, and you tried it and you cant think of any other cons that would go along with them, then i think you should totally get the oled. i got my deck 2 weeks ago and im now in the process of returning it and waiting for the oled version, as all of my “faults” are resolved with this new version.

this is why i returned it and am now waiting for the oled to arrive, for me, the deck is near perfect in its class, except for some cons listed above, and the oled adresses all of those cons and fixes them, so for me it makes sense that i went the oled way. you should too if any of these apply to you
