Josh Dobbs has been incredibly impressive so far and really shows how valuable it is to have a mobile QB.

  1. He’s in the final year of his contract at $2 million a year, set to be a FA next year
  2. It shows just how much offensive talent we have outside of the QB position with how well our offense has played without Kirk or Jefferson

Kirk was playing pretty well before his injury (outside of the pick-six @Carolina game that he nearly single handedly lost for us, but besides that)… but it’s hard to fathom paying $40+ million a year for a 36 yo immobile QB coming back from an Achilles injury… when you can see how well this offense can do with a mobile QB at such a lower cost.

It can be summed up like this. Run first QB’s don’t win superbowls, period. Hell Mahomes is practically the only real mobile QB to win and he’s still definitely pass first.

Mahomes can extend plays with his legs even when he doesn’t end up running. Jalen Hurts was just in the Super Bowl. Josh Allen is another great QB - he’s mobile. Even Joe Burrow is somewhat mobile (before this ankle injury)

Good QBs today need to be able to escape from Pressure in the pocket. Kirk is maybe the most immobile QB in today’s nfl.

I said run first QBs, of course having a mobile one is a benefit
