It’s like seven bucks on steam at the moment, there’s also some add on for The Pitt also on sale.
Anyone know if it is still an absolute shit show not even worth seven bucks? Is it playable solo if you’re in your 40s and don’t really have any reliable gaming group of friends anymore? Any of that Add-on stuff worth looking at?
I’ve played most of the franchise already so I’m familiar with the traditional Fallout elements, but know basically nothing about this title beyond the launch reviews where it was both wildly panned and terribly pitched by Todd as some hardcore nuke tossing multiplayer BS that could potentially erode all your progress. That doesn’t really interest me as someone who likely can’t play frequently enough to offset any progress resets from PvP griefing nonsense.
Is this thing worth buying, more importantly the time investment, or just a “skip at any price” title still?
Considering Bethesda still won’t simply patch the existing bugs in their single player titles like ten years after release I understandably hold some pretty low expectations of them reliably supporting any of their shit post-release at this point.
I’ve bought it multiple times on a few platforms. It’s worth it at the sale price for sure, I wouldn’t really get the cosmetic add on stuff but I generally don’t buy into those so that parts up to you. As far as solo gameplay they have NPC’s all over the map and there’s plenty of events to join in on. They also have public teams made by players you can just join in on if you end up wanting to run daily op’s or whatever. You’ll get a lot of entertainment out of your investment.
It’s basically Fallout Lite, with the central premise being crafting, scavenging for supplies and keeping things circulating. That’s what I got out of it. Tried it a few weeks ago. It’s better than it seems to have been at launch but definitely not the full Fallout experience. I dropped it after the fourth day playing it, it was just boring.
