I’d argue that Poole’s breakout season in 21-22 was a detriment to him in the long run. He hasn’t come close to playing the way he did that year, aside from a game or two.
Think the chip and the money got to his head as he’s trying to play outside of his limits, but he doesn’t realize that he’s on that level yet. He’s still a bench player IMO. Teams have tape on him now so it’s much harder for him to do what he would do. Plus he doesn’t have the 2nd unit + Steph to take the heat off him.
That contract was a mistake, he needed to prove more before getting it.
