For me it was Diablo 3. I really couldn’t get over the simplification of character builds.
Probably not a common one, but bleak faith looked like an amazing souls like and world in its trailers, but from what I’ve seen was not really good - I wanna give it the benefit of the doubt bc it was made by like 1 or 2 guys but 🥲
Spider-Man 2
Diablo 4. I loved Diablo 3 and consider it my favorite game in the genre, but Diablo 4 broke the nice rhythm that Diablo 3 had.
Super Paper Mario maybe?
Most of the stuff I have been hyped for only kinda of disappointed me if it didn’t live up to the hype. Like, I would still keep it and replay it, but SPM I gave away to my nephew because I never wanted to play it again lol
Spore
No Mans Sky (though this was later fixed)
Diablo 3
Diablo 4
Fallout 76Cyberpunk
Starfield, but idk why. I was so excited for it for the better part of a decade. Ever since the first rumors surfaced. I played the shit out of it for a week, and then put it down. Didn’t beat it. Just got bored. I guess I had unrealistic expectations? But no. I had the same expectations I always have had for Bethesda titles since Morrowind was released.
Borderlands 3. Never finished it, got so bored.
Pokemon violet and scarlet
Funny enough I haven’t touched the game since December 2022.
Mortal Kombat 1
I’ve been a MASSIVE Mortal Kombat fan since I was a child. Knew the lore like the back of my hand and played hours upon hours of every entry. I’ve watched the fall from grace these past few years, but MK1 is an unfinished, boring grind. The single player was touted before release as a big part of then game and its the dullest shit I’ve played in years. The story is also an absolute mess and waste of my time. It’s overpopulated with micro transactions and FOMO tactics. The Kombat is fine, but not good enough to interest me enough to stay and I’ve sworn off the entire franchise.
The last of us PC port
Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain.
MGS1: 10/10
MGS2: 10/10
MGS3: 10/10
MGS4: 10/10
MGS5: half-finished openworld game set in a desert.
Anthem, what a fuckin let down that was
Final Fantasy 15, Diablo 4.
No Man’s Sky. I’m sure a lot of people were in the same boat, just was a boring and felt pointless, I didn’t really understand what I was doing.
I hear it’s good now but I haven’t touched it since I first played it.
