I want to start this off by saying I am in no way a widow player by any means. Something that’s been bothering me for a long time is how simple her kit is. I understand that she’s a sniper and there’s not much you can do with that however, I think some small tweaks can be made to breath some new life into her playstyle.
The idea comes from the “Alive” short (about 2:06) where widow hangs upside down by her grapple but her scope re-orients itself to look the right way. Something like this in the live game would be very interesting. Imagine you can hang upside down as widow (yk like a spider) and still hit heads. Widow even has a very long ponytail, which, when you’re sniping can be perfect for balancing this idea out. In real life, snipers only have a few seconds to make a judgment call and to hit the head, which is exactly what widow does in the game right now. Having that second hesitation of whether or not a widow is hanging upside down or standing upright can be the key factor in whether or not you get a headshot. It raises the skill ceiling for her just a little bit, just enough to keep her interesting.
It could be as simple as long, pressing the grapple button to hang upside down from an archway or a ceiling, and in that split second that two snipers have to kill each other, having that moment of hesitation of shooting her head, which is now where her feet would be, would make a cool clip imo. Again, I’m not a widow player, but I do find it easy to play her in that simply because I know exactly where the head is supposed to be on other snipers. Idk could work
