So I was looking at some defensive stats for teams coached by the great RR. When he was just a DC his teams always seemed to get better over the 3 years he coached Chicago and San Diego. When Ron became the HC his teams defensive stats in terms of points starting in 2011 went from ranked: 27 to 18 to 2. After 2013 Ron’s rankings would rubber band each year he went from ranked 2 in points to 21 the following year(2014). The next season(2015) the team ranked 6th in points… guess what happened next year(2016)? Ranked 26th.

Have we seen this trend anywhere? Does it remind you of our current team? Our team under RR in 2020 ranked 4th in points, followed up in 2021 by ranking 25… in 2022 we ranked 7th now this year we are 32nd.

So I saw some people say JDRs defenses did this up and down swing from year to year… but did JDR coach under Ron since 2012? Seems like Ron’s teams are very up and down from year to year… without much consistency. I wonder if it has to do with strength of schedule… I will have to check that theory out one day.

Should we fire Ron after 1 more year to test this theory? The trend is Ron will coach a top 10 D next year. (If you ignore his 2018-2019 stats where he was down both years)
