I️ have this issue where no matter how much makeup I️ put on, everyone always says it doesn’t look like I’m wearing any. I️ have applied multiple layers or gone as heavy handed as I️ can but my face always ends up looking flat. Here is my makeup routine:

  1. Rare Beauty primer
  2. NYX concealer under eyes, around mouth, above nose, and on my pimples. I️ blend this in with a tiny concealer brush
  3. Rare beauty cream bronzer in light brown on my jawline, cheek areas that are hallow, and forehead. I️ blend this in with a whispy contour brush
  4. Fenty beauty foundation on the areas of my face that I️ haven’t covered yet. I️ use a foundation brush and sponge to blend this in
  5. Go over contour area again with more contour and repeat step 3
  6. Rare beauty liquid blush under my eyes, blended with a blush brush
  7. Elf clear gel for eyebrows
  8. Some sparkly eyeshade applied to lid with a brush or my fingers
  9. Cream eyeliner stick if I’m feeling fancy
  10. Mascara and eyelash curler applied twice

I️ put elf setting spray on after every step!!

My friend suggested that everything I️ put on is too close in shade (my concealer, bronzer, and foundation) so it doesn’t look like I️ have any layers on. I️ put on light layers and keep going until I️ get coverage. I️ don’t put on setting powder because every time I️ have tried, I️ haven’t seen it do anything lol.

My skin is combination/dry.

Please help, I’m desperate

if my face looks too flat, i try to saturate things. make my cheeks more saturated (apply more bronzer and blush), try to darken the dark areas of my eyeshadow more and lighten the light areas more. give things more contrast.
