The issue is 90% the offense/coaching staff not involving him in how they conduct the offense, 10% Siakam having some not so great performances (namely that opener where he went like 1/5 from 3?)
Pascal doesn’t know what to do in a motion offence. He’s used to having the ball in his hands.
He needs to learn how to cut and move without the ball effectively. He’s just standing outside. Just because that’s where you start doesn’t mean you just stay there. He needs to watch Dwayne Wade clips. Wade was never a great shooter but he would stand behind the arc and wait for his man to wander off (because he was not a big threat out there). But he would make them pay by cutting backdoor for layups.
I don’t think a guy who wants a max contract would be going through the motions . His place on the team isn’t as clear cut as it should. He’s still far and away the best player on the team for the moment. The bench and rotation seems to be really weird. Both Scottie and Pascal were off for that third quarter draught, I think it’s just early goings with the team trying to figure everything out. Even with Scottie being the lead you don’t think Pascal should be getting more shots and plays called for him right now especially without og this game?
