The Phoenix Suns ended tournament play with a point differential of 34 points. The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Clippers by 10 points, making their point differential 33 points. Had they gotten one more basket, they would have a point differential of 35 points, which would have led to the funniest possible timeline.

Why? Rockets have the H2H tiebreaker over Pelicans as they defeated them - this means that if the Rockets defeated the Mavericks, the Pelicans would go down as #2, and they would have *pushed out* the Suns with their slightly higher PD. However, if the Mavericks defeated the Rockets, the Pelicans would have advanced as #1, and the #2 spot would be someone with a 2-2 record (that the Suns beat by default).

This means that we were robbed of the funniest possible timeline - Suns fans rooting for Dallas and Luka so that they can advance in the NBA Cup. If only Zion didn’t miss one of his shots.
