1500 sq ft, two story house.

Comcast, modem is in bottom floor corner.

Xbox and TV right next to it.

PC for gaming second floor about 50 feet from it. About the middle of the house but 2nd floor.

Currently I have Motorola MB8611 modem with Google nest router with 3 pods. There is a pod I put upstairs with Ethernet I use for my PC.

But… I get terrible latency spikes. I’m paying for 800mb Internet but every minute my ping goes from 20 to 250, which totally screws up gaming. Fucks up video conferencing too but who cares about that, I just wanna win some car soccer.

Do I need to drop google. Should I get the Nighthawk? My PC would then be on wifi which I hear is worse but can it be as bad as what’s happening now? Basically at wits end and I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve had Comcast come out about 10 times about the latency spikes, also think it’s a neighborhood node issue, but theyve been no help and trying to do what I can to fix things on my end.
