I was plat solo queue way back like 9 years ago and at that time, I remember it was pretty common to switch lanes if things weren’t going your teams way.

I mean, it was one tool in the teams belt if one of our lanes was severely mis or outmatched.

Just wondering if that’s still a thing, since I’m coming back after quite a bit of time and trying to learn again. Most of the times that I struggle the team seems to be more in the mindset of we’re each doing our own separate thing and if you’re doing poorly we’ll report you for throwing or afk.

Communication beyond pings seems to be discouraged or a burden. Though I genuinely don’t know if my teammate is spam pinging near me to tell me to watch out or berating me, and if berating me, I don’t know for what.

As someone who did make it to plat however long ago, it’s not like I was a pro, but I was definitely competent - however trying to get back into it, i feel like a caveman unthawed in modern times. completely bewildered.

all of these responses make sense to me.

So essentially riot tried to mechanically remove it.

But also people these days are less amenable to what help they can offer. Honestly this is probably most true in the lowest tiers where everyone feels like they’re just visiting if everyone else wouldn’t hold them back so much.

But thanks, it’s good to know that it’s not a thing anymore.

So if you’re finding yourself mis/outmatched the only thing to do is to buckle down and pray you don’t feed too much until laning phase has completed? Not knowing, I found myself trying to get some CS outside of my lane. Just trying to earn far away from the person who both seemed to have my number and was now also numerically too powerful.

But if I know my only choice is to play maximum defensive in the original lane, then I’ll do that.

God knows I am incredibly rusty, so I’m always humble, but humble doesn’t stop anyone from raging at you in bronze.

I try to say if i’m doing the wrong thing now, what would you like me to do different? Hoping to learn as I go. But i get responded to as if I just insulted their mother. So I guess I’ll just buckle down and figure it out

Edit: really appreciate you all being way more friendly than the in game experience, your information has def helped
