I know they’re doing a great job right now, but do any of you still think the 49ers can still get better and live up to their potential? Last night I still think the offense could have done better, despite putting up 31 points. The defense balled out as always and seem to be all the way back. We know this team can have key weaknesses, as demonstrated by the 3 game losing stretch they were on (which eventually got fixed during the bye). But I was wondering, if the 49ers can get into more rhythm and improve more, is there even more potential that they could unlock the more the season goes on, or has this team already reached its ceiling?

This offense has the talent and potential to score 49 points every game. This defense could shut out anyone in the league. Seriously, this team is that good. Players to Head Coach, this is the most complete team in the league.

Yet somehow, things don’t seem to work out right every game. I’ll admit I’m in the game thread screaming when the defense allows a guy like geno or baker to walk down the field. It boggles mind how a defense so talented allows this every game. I’m sure some of this has to do with Wilks, and I don’t care for that man, but this defense is fucking stacked, boys!

And this offense? Are you fucking kidding me? Best qb in the league, best rb/weapon in the league, deebo, AND BA? Oh and did I mention George Fucking Kittle? We should be scoring 50 every game.

Depends on your definition of “potential.”

Are we among the top 3 or 4 true contenders in the NFL as we were expected to do? In that regard, yes we have.

Are we playing as good as we are capable of? No. I really do think we have a 6th gear to kick into.

The closest they’ve come to a flawless performance was the Dallas game, but there was little room for improvement beyond CMC’s freak fumble and the one busted coverage for a TD.
