I respect your opinion but I disagree. Though it is early. I think his offensive game is going to look so so so darn good in the NBA. He’s a plus athlete with plus size and a plus wingspan and a highly advanced handle. To me, the most important thing about him is he’s a multi-dimensional passer who is shown the ability to pick out players in a variety of scenarios. And I don’t think he’ll get put in a box as someone that has to just exist in the pick and roll, or her thrives in a fast paced or has to have the ball in his hands constantly.
He’s been pretty good as a connector and secondary playmaker quickly moving the ball when it hits his hands and keeping the possession going. But he’s also looked very comfortable in a James harden/Luca style heliocentric roll where everything comes from him getting to his spots and getting downhill.
He’s just an immensely talented player. The things that appear to be weaknesses right now don’t do nearly enough for me to view him as lesser than any of the other guard prospects in this class who all have some serious concerns and their own right. And between him Castle, who I really like, and Collier I find him to be the most entertaining and fun to watch player in addition to a high level offensive talent
To be fair, all of the guard prospects in this class could end up as career backups. Topics passing is the closest thing to an elite skill being possessed by any of the high ranked guard prospects. There’s a whole lot of guys that are good at several things but not necessarily great or projecting as elite in any one important NBA category. As of right now. It’s going to take some sizable improvement from any of these guys to become stars
