Having a slight dilemma. I finally am in a position in life to own a Porsche but can’t decide if I want a new 718 s or to buy a used 911. I live in Seattle area and have a budget around 90k which opens me up to quite a few options.

Few things I have to mention:

  1. I’m not really a race car driver. I am more interested in the ownership experience using the car as more GT car.

  2. I am 5’11 and 195lb so want something more comfortable

  3. My wife is pregnant which I guess is an issue

What do you guys recommend? Also any used 911s near me you think would be a great fit?

Right now you are thinking, I better get that 911 before the kid arrives otherwise I’ll never get one. Buy the wife a new cayenne and call it a win.

It’s not a Porsche but buy a F80 M3 cs unless you can stomach a G80 they’re fantastic cars and livable with a family.

Do you have other vehicles for family use? The 911 technically has a back seat but it’s so tiny don’t plan on comfortably using an infant seat back there. The

Infant seats fit in the back of a 911 and are sold by Porsche.

I saw your comment that your wife won’t drive anything but a Tesla. So, that has the practicality part covered, but even so, I’d say 911. I’m married, have a 12 year old, and mostly daily a Boxster. Only flak I get, which is actually completely reasonable, is “I wish it had 4 seats so we could all go for a drive together.” I’d take that into consideration. When your kid is older, I’m sure he or she will want to ride in the non-Tesla with both mom and dad.
