I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I am posting it since there are so many pharah complaint posts.

Pharah requires proficiency to carry a team and even to provide much value even in metal ranks.

I know people will say that flying provides immediate value as an off angle, but I see quickplay metal-rank pharahs constantly hang themselves out to dry by making an easy target out of themselves and often getting in to a worse position than they would have without the ability to fly.

I also see pharah’s spamming rockets in the general direction of the enemy team without any particular goal to follow up on elims, deny space, pressure squishies, etc… which results in a lot of damage for their stat board and “credit” for players that got eliminated after a splash. On paper that looks great at the end of a quickplay match, but it doesn’t mean they are actually providing a lot of value.

Pharah is one of my top 5 played heroes, but I still find many other heroes easier to actually carry games with.

I think that losses to pharah may stick in peoples minds more than time they’ve made someone switch or won against pharah, and I think it is especially pronounced metal ranks where it’s easy to believe that someone won simply because a hero must be OP.

All this to say I just want to at least give some credit to those that have spent time becoming decent at playing the hero.
