It’s the Saturday after Thanksgiving, my edible is peaking, and I’m bored af, so here’s something nobody asked for in the wake of an incredible win:

Jalen Brunson: Statue of Liberty

The shining staple of our city. It’s not the biggest monument out there, but it attracts crowds from all over the world and gives the city hope.

Julius Randle: Times Square

One of the more polarizing places in NYC. New Yorkers both hate it and love it, but you can’t deny how electric it is when it’s shining bright.

RJ Barrett: Central Park

Just when you think we’ve seen everything it has to offer, there’s another square mile of land to discover. It’s right at the heart of NYC and gets better the more you explore.

Immanuel Quickley: Rockefeller Center

Between Radio City & the Rockettes, the beautiful works of art that scatter the area, and the giant Christmas tree that makes me feel young again, this is the engine of the city that never stops running.

Mitchell Robinson: Empire State Building

Nothing clever about this choice, but it’s gotta go to the most towering man on the team. The Empire State Building gives our city strength and changes its colors based on what the day calls for.

Quentin Grimes: Penn Station

Glue of the city. Does its job well and doesn’t need to be anything flashy. It’s often under construction, but the improvements have been well received and show great promise for the future.

Josh Hart: George Washington Bridge

Sure, tourists aren’t coming here just to see this bridge, but NYC would stop functioning without it. It knows its job and excels at it.

Isaiah Hartenstein: Chrysler Building

Not the biggest and brightest, but iconic in its own right and pairs perfectly with the Empire State Building in the skyline.

Donte DiVincenzo: Broadway

It’s exciting, it’s inviting, it’s NYC at its finest. You might not spend too much time here, but when you do, it’s a treat.

The rest of the bench: the subway lines

Even though they’re largely hidden from view, the subway lines are vital to the success of the city. They might not be perfect, but they do their job when called upon, and I am thankful for them. Even the French ones.

Tom Thibodaeu: Lombardi’s pizza You can’t talk about NYC without bringing up the cheese that holds it all together. It’s oily, it’s messy, it’s not always the best for you, but it makes us who we are and we wouldn’t change a thing about it.
