Hog is definitely the tank I have the most trouble with. He can hook you while you’re in a firestrike animation, and then you’re stuck in melee with a guy who does 200 dps to your measely 88.5. So I guess i put up my shield and try to back up… and it’s just not working out for me.

If you get hooked and still have enough hp you can 180 charge to safety
If I were rein, once he hooks, quickly shield his first few shots then charge away and back to team.
Reins not a good match up in general, but you want to try and bait his hooks with melees as you can cancel the animation and then poke with strikes. Not agaisnt hogs but agaisnt squishies. You get more charge that way and once you have Ult you win the fight after you bait the hook.
Other than that you’re playing the tank game, so decide whether to attack the team or the tank. After that hook goes down you have free reign to push into the team and ignore him cause he ain’t doing much without it.
Don’t use pin.
You need to learn other tanks because Rein vs hog is a bad matchup if you don’t have support or dps that can handle hog without you. Orisa, DVA, and Sigma are much better picks against hog.
