Could be the book you loved the most, the series you daydreamed about, book that inspired you, fascinated you, your comfort read…anything.
And why.
I LOVED the Anne McCaffrey Pern books. I would walk around daydreaming about new adventures set in the books’ world. The Dragonsong books really connected my love of music with my love of fantasy (and animals).
My dad used to read The Indian in the Cupboard book series to me as a kid, so it has a fond place in my memories.
I’ll Always Love You by Hans Wilhelm (1985)
I first read it at maybe 6(?) It’s the first book that ever made me cry and feel such complicated emotions.
Even thinking about it now, I’m starting to feel emotional. I would run into a burning house for that book.
hungry hungry caterpillar🫶🏼
Skulduggery Pleasant is the only book series I can remember reading when I was in I think around 4th grade. Looking back I think I shouldnt have read it at such young age
I had The Queen Who Stole The Sky for when I was very young and Nancy Drew and The Babysitters club for when I was older, The Magic Treehouse was also a favourite
The two that came to mind for me I saw both listed here. The first is Where The Red Fern grows. The second book that really got me into reading was Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
Hatchet
Sir MaChinery by Tom McGowen. (1970) Yes, I’m old. This was the first Sci-Fi/Fantasy book that I ever read. It sparked a life-long love of reading and science fiction.
The Velveteen Rabbit. Makes my heart so full. And I cry every time I read it.
It. I’m still afraid of clowns almost 40 years later. Maybe I was too young to read it.
I hated reading and feel I missed out now.
The Sword in the Stone.
The cats pajamas by Ray Bradbury
The Scarlet Pimpernel. Followed closely by a Carlos Castenada book, The Teachings of Don Juan
a lot of ppl r saying fancy big books but honestly my favourite book as a kid was the giving tree 😅
