Just moved into a new place and am struggling with speaker placement.
For background, our old house was bigger so I had the space for two setups - a pair of Wharfedale Lintons in the living room and Zu Audio DW mkIIs in the basement.
In the new place, I can only keep one pair of speakers which will need to go into the living room. However, as you can see from the photo, we have a custom tv bench that extends the entire length of the wall which makes placing floor standers or massive bookshelves like the Lintons challenging.
I’ve suggested to the wife that we can place the speakers in front at either end, but that did not go down so well haha.
Anyone have any recommendations? Or do I have to give up both pairs and get some smaller bookshelf speakers? I’m very unfamiliar with bookshelves as I’ve always preferred the aesthetic of floor standers
I run a Decware Zen Triode amp, so I’m limited to speakers with 90db sensitivity and above.
Damn that space is nice
It was actually my wife who suggested “what about something nice from Bang and Olufsen?” To which the audiophile part of my lizard brain recoiled haha
I will admit, though, they do make some nice looking kit. I just don’t think I could bring myself to switch to active speakers after having experienced the pairing of high sensitivity Zus with the 2.5watts for my Decware amp…
