As I was going through threads regarding thermal paste in pc subreddits, I came across this statement. Apparently there is a ‘common’ myth that, once you clean and reapply the CPU thermal paste in your laptop, you cross ‘a point of no return’ and have to keep on cleaning and reapplying thermal paste from now on. But if you never reapply thermal paste and just keep it in stock form, you don’t actually need to do it.

This is very puzzling to me. Have you heard of this claim? Is this really a common notion that I just have not heard of before? It’s especially interesting to me because many people do indeed never reapply thermal paste on their laptops and they seem to be doing fine…
