Hello PCMR, I built this pc and have been using it since July 2022, specs will be below this paragraph. I actually have 2 problems, one that renders my PC unstable, but still usable, and a new issue which prevents me from using it altogether. My main focus in this post is the new issue, but maybe someone knows a solution for my older issue, I will start with the main focus.

Issue 1:

I have been using my PC ‘without issue’ the past couple weeks playing games such as project zomboid, using VS Code, web browsing and Youtube. Today I went to boot up and the BIOS screen displayed. ‘Temperature sensor error’. press F1 to continue. with Q-Code error 80, CPU light on. All my fans and the AIO waterblock flash red.

Troubleshooting steps:

Restart, try again.

First attempt

Q-Code 80 (Couldn’t find a result in the manual)

Check AIO connection that comes from the waterblock. it is seated well, but the header has 3 ‘ports’ for wires, but there is only 1 wire attached to the left most ‘port’. Is this right?

Restart again

Q-Code b6 (Cleanup of NVRAM)

Remove CMOS, hold power button for 20 seconds, add a new CR2032 battery and boot.

Same issues

Q-Code 99 (Super IO Initialisation)

At this point I attempted to use the clear CMOS button on the back of my motherboard, and started the PC again, and attempted to reset the bios settings in the bios.

Bios was extremely slow and unresponsive, and before I could exit the PC shut itself down.

Boot again, bios screen displays temperature sensor error, and CPU overtemperature error.

I’ve noticed when I was debugging some other issues in the past, different hw monitoring software (I don’t remember which ones) would show some temperature sensors on my MOBO were reporting 0*C or some impossibly hot temperatures that just weren’t true. I’ve come to the conclusion that my mother board sensors may be fried, or my water cooler. maybe both? Could anyone confirm my suspicions, I am still under warranty for the MOBO, and the AIO, just don’t want to send one in and it not be the issue.

Issues 2 (Optional side-quest ;])

When playing demanding games such as Escape from Tarkov, Cyberpunk, e.t.c. My GPU will hit temps of around 90-110*C. i tried underclocking, increase fan curves, to no avail. Certain maps on tarkov (Mostly customs oddly enough?) will cause my PC to BSOD, it been a while since its happened as I’ve kind of accepted my losses and played less demanding games so I don’t remember the exact BSOD code, but some times I get one was ‘page_fault_in_nonpaged_area’, another ‘nvlddmkm.sys’, and some others I cant remember.

To troubleshoot the ‘page_fault_in_non_paged_area’ I tried different pagefile sizes, ensured I had enough space on my hard drives. Reinstalled windows. And bought the same size and model of RAM, and replaced it. Issues continued.

I’ve read that the 3080ti has some overheating issues and I’m assuming this to be the problem, would I be able to RMA my GPU for this? or could it be another issue from my mobo temp sensors? I’m pretty sure the GPU has it’s own sensors tho.

Any help and input is greatly appreciated, hopefully I formatted this properly and gave you all the pertinent information required. If I missed anything please let me know. Thank you in advanced :)
