Hey r/games,

I’m a solo indie dev currently working on a survival RTS (same genre as They are Billions, Diplomacy Is Not An Option etc). In it you build a colony with the support of a spaceship in orbit and hold back hordes of aliens.

For replayability the player can unlock a wide variety of captains, each of which have different gameplay mechanics and unique units and skills. There are also many biome specific exploration incentives like native aliens you can ally with or destroy, lost colonists, wreckage and more.

The spacecraft mechanic also offers more choices as it allows players to trade-off between the colony or ship and decide if they want it to support their economy or become a powerful weapons platform in orbit.

Features

  • Colony Management - Manage a variety of resources, research new technology and units, explore and expand, find possible allies and plan how you’ll hold back the next wave.
  • Hero Units - Each has different skills, mechanic changes and weapons they can gain from levelling up or finding them in the world.
  • A Spaceship - Send resources back into space to repair and upgrade modules of your spaceship. These can aid your economy or offer massive fire support below.
  • Unlockables - Unlock Heroes, biomes and spaceships in a survival mode with a focus on replayability. Each hero offers a different gameplay style with unique units and some gameplay mechanics to make the game feel fresh.
  • RTS Combat - Classic RTS combat

Future Plans

My current plan is to get a demo out before Christmas and release the game into EA first half of next year. I’m planning to launch with a survival mode and then to release a campaign later. Since I can build the campaign content in parallel with adding content to the survival mode and player feedback will aid both.

Give it a wishlist if you’re interested.
