Driving a Porsche 911 in comparison to a mid engine car

I have heard that when you’re driving a Porsche 911 you’re never supposed to take your foot off the gas completely when you’re going around around a corner. How does this compare to a regular mid engine car? how do you adapt your driving style to make the rear engine work?
