Being drafted in the 3rd round for most leagues, Tee Higgins was seen as a high-upside WR2 like Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith, beaming with potential to be an elite option if Ja’Maar went down.
So far, the season has not panned out as many Higgins owners would have hoped.
Through 12 weeks, Higgins has only played 7 games, averaging 10.3 pts in PPR formats, and besides his explosive Week 2 vs Baltimore and bounce back vs Buffalo in Week 9, he’s been pedestrian relative to his high draft stock.
Unless Jake Browning is a starting-level QB, that does not look like that will change anytime soon for the 91% of people who currently roster him in ESPN leagues.
He’s currently the WR61 behind players like Jayden Reed, Josh Downs, Tyler Boyd (his own teammate), Tutu Atwell (Who hasn’t had a good week since Week 3), and Darius Slayton. Players that he is clearly better than, but have one advantage over Higgins that hasn’t allowed him to provide any value to managers this season: Availability.
With no Joe Burrow, Higgins himself still fighting a hamstring injury, and a semi-tough Playoff stretch for WRs, is Tee Higgins droppable?
