Does it matter if a watch is stored face up or on its case?

I was looking at various watch box options and saw that either option. My experience, at least with my Omega Railmaster, is that storing it gave up at night offsets some of the seconds it gains on my wrist (more akin to storing on the case side), so that it averages out to within METAS.

Thanks.

Gravity does have a small effect but the exact effect is not universal, meaning different watches will slightly gain/lose seconds differently stored in the same position

Honestly I don’t think it makes much of a difference. I never really thought about it before tho. I think it’s just whichever you like more visually. (Well except for watchwinders which clearly have a right and wrong way tho. That’s the only thing I can think about when you say “Watchcases that offer both” lol).
