I don’t get my poles gets so much hate. Yes, he chose Flus. However, I think people forget that was from a list of three guys provided to him by polien. All I know is he knows talent. Braxton jones, Darnell Wriggt, brisker, Gordon, Dexter, Bagent and more. He’s also got sweat, Moore, Edward’s, and Edmund’s. Also got Carolina’s first round. Dude can get and has gotten a solid team. Now we we need a coach to mold it.
Honestly I would just love an explanation at some point about what the fuck happened at the Center position. I got downvoted all off season when people kept saying it’s ok cause Whitehair was a pro bowler five fuckin years ago.
Plus his drafting has been mediocre. We’ve used a lot draft picks on secondary and most of them look like just bodies. A bunch of mediocre guys on this mediocre roster he’s building. Can’t scout talent unless it’s someone else proven star or a top ten pick.
This teams best players are still Pace holdovers two years later.
Poles sucks out loud.
He stinks on Dry Ice
The guy who says “We are going to take the North and never give it back” has zero NFC North wins.
6 wins in two years. No he isn’t.
I agree but he also fucked up with Roquan and Claypool
If you think dogshit Edmunds was a good signing then you need your fucking eyes checked. Sanborn routinely outplays Edmunds, especially at the MLB position. Edmunds makes 20+ million per year and Sanborn makes less than 1 million per year. Poles allows Sweat to only be played 60% percent of the snaps and Lucas to be in rather than Feeny. And you like this turd of a GM?!
Leave it to Bears fans to think of their average (at best) players are “great” finds.
You’re talking about getting a new coach, but do you know who hired Everfuck and his dogshit staff? Yeah, your boy…
Am I the only one who thinks Brisker is just a guy?
What has he done besides getting injured?
He looks lost in coverage most of the time and miss reads plays.
I guess he is a good blitzer but is that what you want out of a safety?
Brisker is awful.
jury is still out
i started writing out a whole thing but really it’s just that the jury is still out
Ill give you Moore, Wright. But the rest, I dunno about.
Claypool disaster has to be mentioned. Jury’s still out on Edmunds’. Still not sure letting Roquan go was smart (yeah yeah he didnt “fit” the system, but Eberflus and his system are outta here soon, sooo…)
Bagent??? What??? I mean I guess its nice we might have a mediocre backup QB, but thats not something to highligh on your resume.
Traded #32 for claypool
whiffed on pickens twice for an okay safety and a mid cb
reached on vjj in the 3rd
every other wr he’s tried to add besides DJ
Lucas Patrick
Paid sweat top 5 money for top 20-25 edge play
still have a terrible d-line with all of his players
Davis can’t get on the field, braxton is still starting, no one has a clue what wright is going to be. He has good plays he has embarrassing plays as a rookie is going to.
we have a bottom 5 talent roster despite the #1 overall pick and 100 million in cap. Where is this talent evaluation? his entire “tear down” was make a bad trade on mack…and he’s done. Yet we’re acting like it was some giant task that he couldn’t possibly improve on with 2 off seasons. And yes, he choose the disaster of Eberflus.
where is this solid team as we’re as we’re sitting with the #4 overall pick next year? That’s ryan poles. You guys really show you don’t know any roster besides the bears and maybe the super bowl contenders.
If you think trading for Sweat and paying him $100M is one for the win column I don’t know what to tell you.
We all watched the gosh darn PANTHERS convert 1st and 30 on us. This is after our coach laughed about having “Something up his sleeve.”
I remember seeing similar posts about Ryan Pace (and Emery for that matter). The trouble is, they are not scouts. It’s great that they are very good at scouting, don’t get me wrong, but they have to have a vision for the team and a long term plan for how to sustain success. Whiffing on coaching, or getting players who independently are very talented but don’t complement each other, are set backs. Not having the right mix of leadership. Not having the support staff and support resources to enhance players’ performance (tech, nutrition, facilities, psych staff, fitness staff, etc.) are set backs. Having a robust scouting and analytics apparatus… I could go on.
Scouting talent well is necessary, but its not sufficient. I wouldn’t write off Poles as being successful at that other stuff, but he hasn’t proven it yet.
watching this Baltimore vs San Diego game and whoever has the ball, the best defensive player on the field is a former Bear is hard to stomach tbh
