The on board Ethernet port on my gigabyte aorus b660i was working just fine until a couple hours ago I went to move the PC, and tried using a longer Ethernet cord, and it just wouldn’t connect. Wifi is fine but Ethernet doesn’t even show up.
I tried moving it back to the original location with the original cord (and other cords) but no dice. Other computer confirms that cord and router port are fine. Running Ubuntu live seems to confirm it’s not a driver/software problem. No matter what I try the lights on the lan port don’t even flash.
Is it possible that I static shocked it or something and fried the port? Is there anything else I should try, or things I can do to test it? I really don’t want to have to fall back on a USB adapter on a board that’s only a few months old :(
