Are they even good anymore? They seem to make the occasional good tackle, but more often than not I see them around the ball because they got beat. They have a combined 7 passes defended and 2 INT this year. I don’t think it would be the worst thing if one or both weren’t here next year, and their salaries could be used on another corner or linebacker.

    There’s a reason nobody wanted to pay poyer in free agency. Love poyer, but they need to upgrade poyer and hyde.

    Pretty sure they’re both done this year. I’d bet 99.9% Hyde is retiring, his wife has alluded to it many times on social media (instagram stories). I don’t follow Poyers wife because it feels icky 😂 but the wives/gf’s always talk 😏

    Honestly, I think Sean and Eric are doing the best they can with what we have on defense. People are complaining about his prevent defense vs Philly but blitzed Mac Jones and got burned. The d line is good but our secondary just ain’t what it was. Our lbs can’t gap control and we’re awful vs the run. There’s alot of $ on the defense that’s hurt or simply not showing up.

    I think they’re both extremely wise DBs that get by almost purely on that wisdom now. Sadly it just can’t make up for the injuries and lost athleticism any more…
