Been saying for the past 2 years that Siakam is a good player , not great. Since Kawhi left, we never made it out of the 1st round. Why? Because when teams focus all their time on stopping Siakam, he can dissappear in a game. He’s not clutch at all as our main threat, either if it’s big games we need to win or 2 minutes left in a game and we need him to get a bucket.
His value was at its highest this off season. Should have traded him for picks or a couple young players with potential that would fit with Scottie. Trade him at the deadline? What we would get back won’t be the same for a guy on a expiring deal with 20 games left In the year. Sign him to the max with the new CBA rules where you’re allowed only 2 max contracts? Big yikes.
It’s going to be the 2020s Masai special. Siakam will get his stats against the bottom feeders (I’m sure he’ll do great against Portland next game) and we’ll hover around 500. Then Siakam will leave in Free agency. Masai is smart enough to know this isn’t a max NBA player.

You can win with him as a 2, on a team with a bunch of above average shooters. Shit our starting center was lights out from 3 in the playoffs too. This roster will never work with both Siakam and Barnes and Poeltl clogging the paint for each other.
