It’s only been 2 games but it is impressive that they held teams under 90. More importantly, this defense is without Jaden McDaniels and it looks sustainable. We’ll see how the defense holds up, the real test is the Nuggets.
Filtering out garbage time, Wolves currently have the 29th offense (102.6) but their defense has been so insanely good (92.8) that they are 6th in point differential (+9.8).

Sidenote: Utah is currently the 30th defense and by a wide margin (125.8 and the 29th defense is 120.2)…I’m glad we have Rudy Gobert.
Only two games, but it is encouraging. Rudy is looking so much better this year.
Way more energy and bounce. The difference is wild.
Someone on twitter got a picture of Rudy contesting Herro’s three on the perimeter. Look at how high Rudy jumps to contest it (and he could trust the team behind him to get the rebound). The difference is stark compared to last year, now that he’s healthy.
Gobert has been our best player thus far. He’s been incredible and a big reason for this.
Does that mean the Wolves made a bad decision giving Jaden the bag.
