Y’all should know that most Niners fans are part-time Houston fans for obvious reasons. I took my chance to watch y’all for the 1st time all year and I was very impressed by a lot of things. The defense was playing great in key situations which is what DeMeco is all about.
The officiating was AWFUL and clearly biased towards the Jags and even as a neutral-ish spectator…it was soo obvious. The Tank Dell catch that was called incomplete on the sideline when he was CLEARLY inbounds was particularly egregious.
The phantom DPI in the endzone on 3rd down that set up the Jags on the 1 yrd line (T-Law reached with his arm into the EZ). The officiating was so one-sided. It’s obvious the league is still trying to prop Lawrence as the next big time QB but I was far more impressed with CJ.
I watched him a little bit in the CFP but his mobility level has far superceded what I expect and his arm strength is def top notch. But by far the most impressive thing I got from him is the calmness…the control…that is rare.Even under pressure his stability was excellent ( I believe he took an ankle knock that he played through later in the game, which may have contributed to him getting sacked twice on that last drive).
Tank Dell’s speed also jumped out at me…he was seemingly open all the time and that catch he made on the 2nd drive (58 yrds) where he took it from the DB was CRAZY…(Sadly that play got called back for an illegal shift by him… more refball IMO)
The biggest compliment I can give to Stroud is that when you guys got the ball back with 3:05 left and were 3 pts down…I expected Stroud to drive it down for the TD. That’s how you know you have a special QB…
I was pissed at the officiating by the end so I cannot even imagine how bad y’all feel…You guys will make the playoffs IMO if you keep playing like this and you have a solid foundation at QB, Coaching, Defense to really do some damage in coming years.
Sorry for the intrusion…but your team is fun to watch and I had to give the compliments.
As a Texans fan, you get used to the league giving the other team the calls.
But yesterday was egregious. I seriously hope Demeco and Casserio send about 45 minutes of game film to the league today. And what the hell was that spot on the final field goal? Complete BS. NFL is rigged, but they have to make it less obvious.
Some teams get more calls than others. That was the case for us when we played Burrow and Cincinnati. They seemed to get every single call in the 2nd half…it was so frustrating how our defense got flags on literally every other play.
Thank you man. As tempting as it is to say the officiating was on purpose to prop up Lawrence, you’re giving them too much credit. They were terrible, they just happened to be terrible more often in our direction today. I’m rooting for you guys (unless we play you lol). Give ‘em hell.
Well blowing Jacksonville away after Nick Wright had said we’d lose was satisfying
