Hi all, as the title says I’m having an issue with no power in my 2001 Toyota Corolla.

Earlier today it drove fine, no odd behavior. After it sat for about 8 hours, I go to start it up again and the car is behaving normally (door chime, dash lights normal, etc.).

However, when I went to crank the engine, the car would not start. I went to turn on the overhead cabin light, and as soon as the light came on, all power was lost to the car. No windows, power locks, lights etc will come on.

For some context, about a month ago the car experienced a separate issue where it can no longer start in the Parking gear. I believe this is related to the neutral switch. To circumvent that issue, I would just put the car in neutral first and then the car would start up fine. Now, I’m assuming to the loss of power, I can’t move the gear lever to neutral without using the override switch.

Any help understanding where I can look to troubleshoot this issue would be greatly appreciated!
