Stotts resigned a month ago & I wasn’t too down about it considering Griffin could go after someone who fit with him better. But so far other than rumors about Sergio Scariolo, I haven’t heard any news about assistant coaching pursuits.
Is it too late in the season? Griffin is doing a good job with where we’re at in the season, but it’d be helpful to get another set of eyes on things, & take some of the load off of AG & Prunty.
There has been only one rumored candidate at the beginning of November:
“Former Virtus Bologna coach and current Spain NT coach Sergio Scariolo has received a proposal from the Milwaukee Bucks to return to the NBA and serve as Adrian Griffin’s first assistant coach, as reported by Superbasket.” Source Tweet by Christos Harpidis.
Edit: I asked a couple of people I know that work in the NBA, and one said it is rumored that Scariolo helped a lot with the super aggressive hedging defense of the Raptors.
I saw these rumors, too. Mostly on Spanish language social media.
