Genuinely curious here. I’m only a university student, but I’ve still watched thousands of hours of sports, and I can honestly say that was the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen.
Every momentum swing came from the refs. Even the momentum swings in our favor (I guess swing should be singular for us since it was only Stings int) came on an absolutely egregious no call. That game felt absolutely hopeless from minute one because of the refs. Whoever they decided should win was always going to win that game.
Side note, I was way to angry to watch any other NFL games yesterday (typically I watch every game), but I heard the officiating in the bills phili game was also horrible. Anyone watch that one too? How did it compare?
I’ve grown to accept all sports are rigged. Not only is gambling completely legal now, but each league always is going to have a narrative or players they want to actively promote.
In rare instances can be overcome. A team can be so good there’s nothing the refs can do to stop them. The Nuggets and Heat are perfect examples. So were the Rockets during our two championship runs.
It just makes the championships that much sweeter, and you can sleep soundly at night knowing the fans of marquee franchises/players are bozos.
