As the holiday season approaches, I want to hear about everyone’s top book wishes–whether it’s a collector’s edition of an old favorite, a book that has somehow evaded your grasp, a book that has been recommended by a friend, or anything and everything in between. Why are you asking for these books?
For me, I’m hoping to get two books that Mike Palindrome recommended, The Collector by John Fowles and Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee. They both aren’t at my library, and I’ve wanted to read them for a while now.
I put a Danny Phantom comic and Under The Banner of Heaven on my wishlist. The duality of man.
I just finished Waiting for the Barbarians by Coetzee! It was fantastic and I’ve heard Disgrace is even better.
The Green Mile by Stephen King. I’ve heard so many good things about it
Disgrace is excellent!
At the top of my wishlist right now are Trespasses by Louise Kennedy, The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis and Frantumaglia by Elena Ferrante.
I’ve been on the wait list for The Last Life Boat by Hazel Gaynor at my library for over 10 weeks. I love that I’m able to borrow books for free on my Kindle, but the wait times can be really long.
I have a copy of the collector if you want it sent to you!
That is so kind of you. I will lay the burden upon my family, but thank you for the offer!
